The worst blunder we can make is believing that we can achieve greatness in a short time. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to developing abilities, learning new things, or accomplishing anything at all in life. Our need to get everything right now may jeopardise our future. Placing our short-term desires ahead of our long-term objectives would only slow our progress toward what makes life worth living.
At a period… 1% at a time… Here are a few mind-blowing facts regarding the power of consistent improvement by 1%.
What would it mean to improve by one per cent?
Getting 1% stronger every day involves concentrating on the one small action you can do today to go one step closer to achieving goals for tomorrow. It requires committing to these small acts day after day (even if they don’t seem to be working) because you believe they’ll add up to something substantial.
Instead of concentrating on a large, overarching goal that appears hard to achieve, you concentrate on your daily routines. You put a little money down for a rainy day fund there, pay even more on your credit and debit cards there, and take a brief stroll there till all your small acts add up.
This is not a glamorous or noteworthy procedure. Becoming one per cent better is difficult to assess at first. You begin by becoming 1% better these days than you would have been before at doing something. Then you will be up to 2% the next day. You increased your profit by 3% the following morning. After a week, you’ve reached 7%. Not that much, but over time it adds up to something significant.
Here’s some maths to demonstrate what I’m talking about.
If you focus on getting 1% better every day, you’ll be 37.78 per cent stronger than you would have been before (1.01365=37.78) after a year (1.01365=37.78).
That’s 37 times good at controlling your funds, starting a side business, asking for a promotion, or achieving any other objective.
Isn’t that a powerful statement?
What would it look like to get 1% better each day?
Here are some instances of how improving your money, health, and entire life by one per cent per day may appear.
